Give Today
Giving every month is the easiest way to support Powering Potential and the young people we help. And it has an extra positive impact for us, because when we can predict our donations every month, we can spend more time building great programs to help students build a brighter future, and less time fundraising.
Double Your Impact with Employer Matching!
Did you know your gift could go twice as far? Many companies offer employer-matching gift programs, even for retirees! Allowing you to maximize your support.

Equipment Donation Policy:
We often get requests to donate equipment, especially computers and laptops. We are so grateful for the generous donors who want to help, but we find it is usually preferable to purchase equipment locally in Tanzania or Peru. Here are some things to know:
Good quality computers are available for sale locally. When we buy equipment from local vendors, that money gets invested into the local community, meaning donor funds have an even bigger positive impact on the places where we work.
Buying locally saves on shipping and customs fees. In many cases, the amount of money it takes to ship computers from the US to Tanzania or Peru would buy the same number of computers from a local vendor. As a small organization, we care a lot about being as efficient as possible with donor funds, and buying locally is usually more efficient.
Powering Potential has a strict policy not to pay any extra-judicial fees. That means that equipment shipped from the US or Europe, especially computers, often gets stuck in customs, sometimes indefinitely. In some cases, electronics are at high risk of being stolen. We would hate for your donation to go to waste!
Since plugs and voltage are different in Tanzania, computers shipped from the US usually require purchasing additional adapters and converters, which can add a lot to our installation costs. Buying locally solves that problem!
Buying locally saves on carbon emissions, a win for the whole world.
If you are still interested in donating equipment from the US, we ask that donors cover all shipping and customs fees.
Making a monetary donation instead is encouraged.
